Religion is a very important part of Greek life and culture, and this is easily understood if you take into account the hundreds of churches and monasteries that exist in every corner of Greece. Both this and Halkidiki are cradles of the religious culture and history of Central Macedonia over the centuries, as they have many churches and religious monuments with impressive history and religious significance.
